The new 6 seater new automatic pivot chairlift has substituted the old “Gigante” with an extension of the line up to 2.363 metres, arriving in the high part of the piste plateau, with spectacular views.
The technologically advanced chairlift which is able to cover 1608m with a vertical drop of 433m in just 5 minutes and 22 seconds in the comfort of a 6 seated, state-of-the-art lift. The new chairlift enables all ski enthusiasts to enjoy skiing at high altitude with spectacular views of the mountains surrounding the valley of Bardonecchia.
The invitation to enjoy the spectacular views is dedicated to pedestrians too! The chairlift is open to everyone, even those without skis on their feet. A return ticket is 14€ (cable car + 6 gigante).
For a stretch of 1608m with a vertical drop of 433m, a flow volume of 1800 p/h and 57 6 person chairlifts, the Jafferau has a journey time of 5'47", bypassing a valley (to limit the distance and minimize the impact on the landscape. There is a mountain building made with important features such as local stone and wood, making the “6 GIGANTE” an emblamatic symbol of the intentions of all operator organisations to invest in this part of the ski area.
Furthermore, taking advantage of the need to collect necessary materials to construct the valley station and make it easily accessible for all who arrive at Fregiusia by cable car, it has locally been identified as a borrowed quarry. It has been remodelled, giving the Horres track a new splendid formation, which will be a very useful implementation of the ski club’s training stadium.
